Unaddressed mail

Before contacting the PIO with your complaint, we ask that you pursue the matter as far as possible with the postal operator.

The PIO does not investigate complaints about unaddressed mail (sometimes known as 'junk' mail).

Complaints about delivery of this type of mail by Australia Post can be made to the Commonwealth Ombudsman.

Complaints about unaddressed articles delivered by anyone other than Australia Post should be addressed to your State Office of Fair Trading or Consumer Affairs (see Making a postal complaint).
